2010_keystone_awardsAnnually, the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of PRSA recognizes individuals and companies for outstanding public relations programming. Here is all the information needed to enter these prestigious awards and gain recognition for your work and your company. Entries may be made by any PRSA member or non member in as many award categories as desired. A separate fee is required for each entry.

IMPORTANT AWARD INFORMATION
Awards will be presented at the November Awards Ceremony of PRSA.

Each entry must be a public relations program or project completed, produced or implemented between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.

ENTRY DEADLINE
Early Bird entries and accompanying fees must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010. All entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010.

You will be notified of the outcome of the award process approximately four weeks prior to the November meeting.

ENTRY GUIDELINES
Entries are limited to one hardcover, three-ring binder. In addition to the summary, please enclose an abstract of no more than 50 words describing the program. You may incorporate press clippings, letters, photos, samples, VHS/ Tapes/CDs/DVDs, as long as all work is contained within the binder.

Choose an appropriate category for your entry. An impartial panel of judges from another PRSA Chapter will judge all entries and reserve the right to reassign entries to a more appropriate category. No awards will be given in categories where judges determine that entries do not merit them. Honorable Mention awards may also be given in categories where judges believe those awards are merited.

For-profit businesses may submit entries in the not-forprofit category for work completed on behalf of a nonprofit agency.

PRSSA Chapters may submit campaigns and projects and will be judged on their own merit, not against other entries in the same category.

CAMPAIGNS
Community Relations
Programs that improve or maintain an organization’s relations or image in the communities in which it operates.

Media Relations
Comprehensive effort to work with media to help showcase and/or communicate an organization’s goals, point of view or new and/or existing products or services.

Investor Relations
Program relating to an organization’s stock performance and targeted at individual and institutional shareholders, as well as at other corporate shareholders and potential investors.

Crisis Communications
Programs developed to help organizations communicate effectively with various audiences, including the media, during an event, crisis or emergency situation.

Public Affairs
Programs designed to affect legislation, government regulation, political activities or candidacies on a local, state or federal level.

Special Events
An event or series of events designed to attract attention to a product, service or commemorative occasion or to raise money for the organization.

Marketing Communications

Programs developed to publicize and promote new or existing services, ideas or products.

Internal Communications
Ongoing programs designed to communicate organizational goals, themes or programs to internal audiences.

REMEMBER TO INCLUDE
• A written statement demonstrating RACE for campaigns. Tactic entries do not require the RACE formula to be met, but a written statement explaining the entry is required.
• Any documentation supporting the entry, such as letters of support, news articles, publications, etc. For Tactics, an actual copy of the item entered is required.
• Any other information that may be helpful to the selection committee.
• Correct fee for each entry. You may place all entries in one box as long as each entry is clearly marked and contains the entry form. One check may be submitted for all entries. Please make check payable to Central Pennsylvania PRSA.
• Please note: payment is required at time of submission. Entries without payment will be deemed incomplete and may not be judged.

DEADLINE
Entries must be received by the PRSA Central Pennsylvania Chapter by the close of business September 10, 2010, no exceptions.
